Child Nutrition Program
Our goal at New Pathways is to not only provide well-balanced and nutritious meals to your children, but to also establish good eating habits and develop positive food attitudes at an early age!
New Pathways serves breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack to all children in attendance.
We are proud to participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Participation (CACFP) program. Our food program is certified by the Ohio Department of Education in coordination with the USDA Food and Services!
With this certification, you can be assured your child is receiving well-balanced, high quality and nutritious meals and snacks. In order to meet the strict guidelines of CACFP, each meal and snack we serve must qualify as a “creditable” food, which includes USDA standards for:
- nutrient content
- FDA standards of Identity
- USDA standards for meat and meat products
- appropriate serving portions by age group
Our lunches include at least one item from the four basic food groups (meat, bread, milk, and fruit/vegetable) meeting at least 1/3 of the recommended dietary allowances, while breakfast and snacks will include at least one item from 2 different food groups.
